Top reasons to attend the Manitoba RV Show

Published March 2018

When: March 8 - 11, 2018

Where: Winnipeg, Manitoba

If you’re feeling the cabin fever start to itch, rest assured—it’s trade show season again! The Manitoba RV Show will be held at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg on March 8-11. Tickets are available online and at the door, and thousands of campers are expected to attend.

The show manager, Dave Amy, also known as “Trade Show Dave,” helped us come up with our top reasons to attend the Manitoba RV Show this year!

1. One stop shopping

Be the first to see what trailers, motorhomes, and RVs are new this year. The Manitoba RV Show is one of the easiest times to compare units because all the local dealers set up under one roof. Attendees can expect to see over 160 units in the 130,000 square feet of exhibit space. Over 30 exhibitors will be at the trade show, including 7 local dealerships.

2. It’s the best time to buy!

With special events like trade shows come special promotions on new units. “It’s the best time to buy because of the competitive pricing and show incentives,” Dave said. Buying before the season starts is also a good idea given the increased demand for new RVs in recent years. “There’s a big risk of selling out this season,” he said. “The RV industry is absolutely booming!” Make sure your family spends the summer in the unit they want by purchasing before the crowds get the same idea.

3. Family friendly fun

The entertainment at the Manitoba RV Show is inclusive of the whole family. “It really is a family event,” Dave said. There will be face painting for the kids, and lumberjacks teaching axe throwing. For the adults, anyone who purchases an RV will “Spin to Win” a guaranteed prize. Prizes include restaurant and gas gift cards, bicycles, sound systems, and more. Also, Can Am RV’s outdoor cooking presentation stage with show times of Chef Craig throughout the weekend. “He will help people plan camping meals, and show them what they can prepare at home before they go.”

4. Plan your summer before the season even starts

If you aren’t sure where the road will take you this upcoming season, talk to the campgrounds at the trade show about their facilities. This is the time to find out about those places off the beaten path, or the ones that have stayed on your bucket list for years. Both private parks and entire tourism boards are on the exhibitor list. Where will summer 2018 take you?

5. Stock up on fun accessories to use next season

The Manitoba RV Show is still beneficial to campers who aren’t in the market for a new rig. The trade show is a great time to buy new accessories. Either for fun, or accessories that make our lives on the road a little bit easier. This is the place to buy the latest gadgets!

6. Learn from new friends

It’s easy to meet people with similar interests at the Manitoba RV Show. “The best advice comes from dealers, but the cool advice comes from campers,” Dave said. “All you have to do is start a conversation—you’ll talk for hours!” He urges attendees to ask all the questions they want while at the trade show.

Bonus: New this year, attendees will have the chance to view four original Boler trailers. The Boler was manufactured in Winnipeg from 1968 to 1988. Only 10, 000 units were sold—most to dedicated Boler campers that have upgraded their original units. This coming August, hundreds will return to Winnipeg to share their renovations and retrofits for the 50th anniversary. To get the city excited for this milestone in the world of Canadian camping, four trailers will be on display at the Manitoba RV Show.
