Celebrate the economic heritage of Sparwood during Coal Miner Days, when the community comes together for a five-day festival from June 8 to 12, 2011.

Fireworks light up the Friday night sky and a parade marches through the community the following day. Keep the kids busy at Kids Fest—an area with bouncing inflatables and games from 12 to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

For sports enthusiasts, there are golf, baseball, ball hockey and soccer tournaments all weekend long; card sharks can also ply their skills in crib or poker competitions.
