1) Cycling tours in Saanich

Being active is an important part of touring the Island, as you can see by the wealth of cycling trails available here. Seeing Saanich from the seat of a bicycle is one of the most exhilarating ways to get in touch with the community.

2) Music in the Park

Visit Saanich during July and August to experience a musical delight. During this time, talented local musicians perform in the park on Tuesday evenings. Often there are other on-site activities coinciding with the concerts, such as markets, artisan displays, face-painting for kids and other fun features.

3) Log Cabin Museum and Archives

History buffs will enjoy a trip to the Log Cabin Museum and Archives. The museum displays items from pioneer families, and exhibits that pay tribute to the local First Nations heritage.

4) Glendale Gardens

Botanical enthusiasts, look no further. Glendale Gardens boasts more than 10,000 varieties of plants spread across a verdant landscape. After you've toured the garden, you can access the nearby conservation park, where there are cycling and walking trails, and wetlands that are home to numerous bird species.

5) Saanich Strawberry Festival

Residents and visitors celebrate the community's agricultural roots at the annual Saanich Strawberry Festival. Activities include arts and craft stations, pie-eating contests, bouncy castles, sports and games and pony rides, to name a few.
