Doug MacQueen is the manager of the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort RV park and of Spruce Grove RV Park and Campground, which is also part of the Fairmont Resort complex. His wife, Judy, is a grounds attendant at the resort. The couple has a very short commute to work.

Do you live in Fairmont?

Doug: We live right here, in the RV park, in our 37-foot Jayco fifth wheel.

So you live here and you both work here?

Judy: That’s right. It’s our third year here.

Can you tell me a bit about your history?

Doug: I’m an ex-RCMP officer and we’re from Nova Scotia. We’ve lived in a few places across Western Canada, as far as Vancouver Island, and we made lots of friends while we were managing RV parks in Osoyoos and in Cabri Regional Park in Saskatchewan—and here, of course.
