One of the northernmost agricultural communities in Canada, High Level is a great place to see birds and a range of other wildlife. Hunting is popular here, but many people enjoy just going out for a hike and taking photos of the moose, deer, bear and other animals in the area. In addition to the ample hiking trails and canoeing areas located near High Level, in town there are a number of parks, playgrounds and sport facilities for those who enjoy an active lifestyle.

History lovers can take time to visit the Mackenzie Crossroads Museum. Open year-round, the museum also houses a visitor centre. There are historical exhibits, an art gallery and a souvenirs for sale, as well as an outdoor picnic spot.
