Fort McDowell is a snowbird-friendly community with so much to offer, you might find yourself returning every winter. These are some of the top attractions to take in while you're there.

McDowell Mountain Regional Park

Explore the desert terrain, at McDowell Mountain Regional Park, located just a short drive from Fort McDowell. Hikers and cyclists will be pleased to see a multitude of scenic trails meandering through this park, offering stellar views and photo ops. All the trails are well-marked, and they vary in difficulty so there is something for everyone. Camping is available, with spacious, clean sites that accommodate RVs up to 45 feet long. They have water and electrical hook-ups, a dump station, barbecue fire ring and restrooms with flush toilets and showers.

Fort McDowell Adventures

Create your own adventure with this well-established tour company. They offer horseback riding, segway outings, biking, hiking and kayaking tours, or you can go off-roading at the Fort McDowell Yavapai Reservation.

Fort McDowell Casino

Try your luck at the Fort McDowell Casino, and you may even strike it rich! Play bingo, poker, slots and blackjack at this top-of-the-line gaming facility. The Eagle View RV Resort and Wekopa Resort are very close by, so you can stay and play to your heart's content.

Orme Dam Victory Days

If you're coming through in mid-November, plan to attend this annual celebration. The Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation has been hosting this event for 38 years, and the next one is scheduled for November 15th - 17th, 2019. Highlights include Native American and contemporary arts, crafts and food vendors, a carnival for all ages, cultural performances, sports tournaments, an all-Indian rodeo and an Intertribal Pow Wow.
