If you seek an RV destination that will keep your family smiling, your next Arizona trip should include a stay in Camp Verde. Here are just a few of the many fun things to see and do in the area:

1.) Fort Verde State Historic Park

History buffs will be thrilled with a visit to Fort Verde State Historic Park. This is a well-preserved example of an Indian Wars period fort, where visitors can take tours and learn more about Arizona life in the 1800s. There are living history programs hosted regularly, and three historic house museums, which are fully furnished to reflect the time period. You can also find a visitor's centre on site with interpretive exhibits inside.

2.) Montezuma Castle National Monument

At this marvel of ancient architecture, you can see cliff dwellings constructed by the Pre-Columbian Sinagua people in approximately 700 AD. The Montezuma Castle Visitor Center is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and there is a book store and picnic area on the grounds. Check the monument website for special events, tour options, and to find out about the ranger programs, which are held each morning at 10 and 11 a.m.

3.) Out of Africa Wildlife Park

This wildlife theme park aims to educate visitors while delighting them with interactive exhibits, shows and other activities. Book a family camp-out to sleep under the stars, enjoy all different animal shows and sit around the campfire with the sounds of the wildlife all around you. The park also offers other entertainment, such as zip-line tours, an African Bush Safari Tour, Tiger Splash and more.
