Jo Ann Bender talked her husband Frederick (Bud) Budinger, a.k.a. Skipper, into buying a vintage RV. This book is a collection of rambling memories about their first road trip from northern Washington State to Texas. Jo Ann tells of their adventures and misadventures: the breakdowns, the people they met along the way, and the lessons they learned on their maiden voyage.

Sprinkled throughout the book are Jo Ann's musings in bold print. Some of these discoveries are her own personal joys and thoughts, others are practical tips. Some examples:

  • Discovery No. 3:  Repairs to the RV are only possible Monday through Friday.
  • Discovery No. 14: Motorhome living functions best when everything has a place and returns to it, unless in use.

If you are thinking of getting into RVing and wonder what challenges might have to face, you could benefit from Snowbirds.  Snowbirds is available on Amazon.
