Jamboree fun
This major country music extravaganza is celebrating 15 years
Do you recognize these big names in country music: Ridley Bent, Sugarland, Paul Brandt, Trace Adkins, Trisha Yearwood, Randy Travis, The Road Hammers, Charlie Major, Shane Yellowbird and The Higgins? They and many others will be performing at the Big Valley Jamboree this summer.

Explaining what Canada’s biggest country music extravaganza is all about is like describing the first time you saw a rainbow: it’s hard to put into words, but it sure makes you feel good inside. Whether you’re a true blue country music fan or you just like to have fun in a casual, relaxed atmosphere, the Big Valley Jamboree is the event for you.
So, where do you start? Well, first thing—you’d better set aside four days in early August; grab some comfortable clothes, call your friends, and load up the RV. Then join concertgoers from around the globe who make the yearly pilgrimage to a 400-acre mini village that’s created each year in Camrose, Alberta. It’s an amazing sight, and what makes it extra-special is the neighbourly feel that is prevalent.
One note to campers: major changes have been made in 2008 to provide increased shuttle service for campers. For complete information on camping at the jamboree, visit the website.
The folks at the Big Valley Jamobree are celebrating the event’s 15th anniversary and organizers are promising an incredible party, so be sure to make your plans soon.
