Fun for all
From hiking to bull riding, Eureka offers all sorts of leisure activities
Eureka is a festive community. Throughout the summer, the town organizes several exciting events. This year on July 5, there is the Wood Rock Festival where spectators can watch chainsaw artists turn blocks of wood into unique sculptures. Food vendors and arts and crafts will also be featured. Then, there is the Tobacco Valley Rodeo taking place July 25 and 26 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds—with a variety of rodeo activities, it provides fun for the whole family. If that isn't enough, there will be a large quilt show held at the historical village on August 2.

Another large event of the summer is the Lincoln County Fair, held from August 21 to 25. One of the biggest draws of the fair is The Bull Thing, to be held Saturday evening on August 23. This rough and tough bull riding show draws top bull riders from the U.S. and Canada who come to compete for a prestigious winner's purse. The event also features a Calcutta auction and cowboy poker—a riveting game involving four everyday people, a poker table and a charging bull.
