Fairmont HOt Springs
Outdoor fun
Adventure has reached new heights
For rest, relaxation and recreation, Fairmont Hot Springs has long been a popular place. To add to the wonderful array of recreational outings that Fairmont Hot Springs offers, a new program has been developed called the Eco-Adventure Program. Jocelyn MacGregor, a naturalist and recreation director at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort, said the program introduces people to the backcountry of the Columbia Valley.

“All of our tours are interpretive tours,” said MacGregor. “Our aim is to make sure everyone is having a good time so they will want to get out into nature. We like to stay up-beat and personal so people can have the most positive experience possible.”
The Eco-Adventure Program offers activities to suit any nature lover. Tours include a wildlife and scenic driving expedition—which is a sightseeing journey on which guests will try to spot native Canadian animals—and the Pillars of the Earth hike, which consists of an informative hike up to the hoodoos. MacGregor said the campfire dessert program is also fun.
“This is a great program for families and individuals as it is a social time where we teach you how to cook amazing treats in the coals of a fire, while taste-testing everything of course,” said MacGregor. “We are becoming very well known for our secret marshmallow recipes. Marshmallows will never be the same once you’ve tried our secret.”
MacGregor said the program runs all year long and the schedule of activities and events will always be changing so that each experience is different and exciting.
“It is a great way to experience everything the Columbia Valley has to offer,” said MacGregor. “Just pick up the schedule and your whole week is planned.”
