Recognizing green efforts
”Green RV of The Year” goes to QUICKSILVER Automotive Campers
Livin’ Lite Recreational Vehicles, manufacturer of the QUICKSILVER line of ultra lightweight Automotive Campers, has been named Roaming Times’ “GREEN RV of the YEAR”. Roaming Times recognizes and highlights innovation in the RVing industry with this choice.

Roaming Times said, “Our selection was influenced by zero formaldehyde, no rotting or rusting, low cost and the ability for the camper to be pulled by an ordinary car. Not only does the QUICKSILVER save energy, it opens up the RVing experience to a whole new generation of energy-conscious campers.”
In what has been a depressed RV economy, Livin’ Lite is poised for growth by offering “Green Friendly” RVs to consumers who embrace the GO GREEN movement. With more and more families choosing fuel efficient cars and minivans over traditional trucks and SUVs, Livin’ Lite is positioned to offer those families an affordable opportunity to enjoy the RV lifestyle.
“Our QUICKSILVER line of fold-out Automotive Campers are designed specifically for automobiles and minivans,” reported Mike Kinzel, GM of Livin’ Lite. “While major automotive manufacturers are closing down truck and SUV plants, we are seeing an increased demand by young families looking for an affordable, durable camper that they can tow with their current family vehicle.”
Unlike other ultra lightweights on the market that can be towed by cars, the QUICKSILVER can sleep up to six people comfortably, it features 6’-4” of headroom, and is built out of all aluminum and composites—making it both wood and formaldehyde free!
“You will not find even one splinter of wood in a QUICKSILVER,” said Kinzel, “Making our product Green Friendly on a number of levels—both in terms of construction materials and the incredible fuel savings our owners experience as they can go camping without having to use large trucks or SUVs to pull their camper.”
Census information and other studies reveal that both the Gen X and Gen Y generations are choosing more fuel efficient vehicles, such as passenger cars and minivans over trucks and SUVs. These same studies show that they are looking for more ways to spend quality time with their family, and are even willing to take lesser paying jobs in order to accommodate their desire to be more family oriented. In light of those facts, companies like Livin’ Lite RV are poised to thrive in the coming years. With a full 50 per cent of society currently driving passenger cars or minivans, the opportunities for traditional towable RVs seem destined to diminish.
“Our products provide dealers with the opportunity to attract the thousands of car and minivan owners that pass by their location everyday,” said Kinzel. “We are not a pop-up, we are a true automotive camper and there is a big difference. We are all about attracting new families to the RV lifestyle—in an affordable way and utilizing their current family vehicle.”
