Every year, thousands of country music fans flock to Merritt, B.C., for the Merritt Mountain Music Festival.
Now in its 16th consecutive year, the festival will be held July 10 to 13, 2008. Taking centre stage will be Sara Evans, Sugarland, The Judds, Hank Williams Jr., Dierks Bentley, Jessie Farrell, Pat Green and other recognized names in country music.
Aside from the musical performances, there is a whirlwind of activities taking place on and around the festival grounds.
Some adjustments for 2008 will provide event-goers with an improved outdoor entertainment facility and a more comfortable campground environment. Individual camp sites are being created in a new camping area and all sites will be reserved only. For the first time, ticket sales will be limited to 12,000 and a wider variety of outdoor activities—such as walking, biking and hiking along nature trails and golfing—will be offered in conjunction with the festival itself.
