Saskatchewan is known for several tourist attractions, hiking trails, entertainment venues and other highlights. However, you will also want to make time for some laid back boating and fishing during your stay.

According to Tourism Saskatchewan, the province is home to more than 100,000 lakes and rivers, and boasts some of the best freshwater fishing in Canada. Find yourself an outfitter, invest in a package deal or just head out on your own and see what you can catch.

There are approximately 68 species of fish you might reel in here, including walleye, Northern pike, brook trout, yellow perch, Arctic grayling, rainbow trout, lake trout and others.

In order to fish legally in Saskatchewan, you need to ensure you have the proper license. Check the Government of Saskatchewan site, to find out how to purchase one.
