You’ve probably tried a tamale or two in your life. They consist of a leaf-wrapped dough, traditionally filled with chicken, beef, vegetables, chilies and cheese. The tamale is steamed or boiled, and the leaf is removed after cooking.

The Indio International Tamale Festival is the place to go for all your tamale cravings. This festival has been deemed one of the top all-American food festivals by television’s Food Network.

The festival takes place on December 4th and 5th and runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Come hungry.
